Microgaming Will Bring Back Tomb Raider

Microgaming has renewed its agreement with Square Enix and they will produce a third Tomb Raider themed online slot game.

The slot will be developed for Microgaming by Triple Edge Studios and comes after 15 years since the first release of the series, 2004’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

The new Microgaming Tomb Raider slot will follow the 2008's, Tomb Raider: Secret of the Sword slot, and it will be unveiled at ICE in London in February 2019.

Anticipated to release in 2019, it will again feature the fearless Lara Croft, leading players on a new adventure seeking ancient trails to find big wins and other treasures.

Andrew Clucas from Microgaming, said:

“We are incredibly excited to announce the renewal of our historic partnership with Square Enix to develop a new Lara Croft online slot game that honours and builds on the brand’s massive popularity in the gaming industry, film and beyond.

This year is our 15th anniversary with the brand and we plan to celebrate the unprecedented milestone with a wave of big reveals on another show-stopping stand at ICE.”

Janet Swallow from Square Enix West, said:

“We look forward to continue working with Microgaming to develop another successful branded online slot game.

We are excited to see a new action-packed Lara Croft adventure launch to the igaming world and look forward to the big reveal at ICE 2019.”

Over 22 years ago, in October 1996, the first Tomb Raider video game was released and since then the franchise has sold more that 67 million units making Lara Croft one of the best-sold video game heroine.
